Well just got a cute little jag 1-2" He's with 3 little 2" catfish right now. Should he stay by himself, or will he be ok in my oscar and JD tank (one oscar and one JD in tank) I'm picking up either a 140 or 125 this weekend to beging cycling, and was curious if I could run my new jag, with my oscar and JD in the new tank once it's established/cycled. Please help the newbie out! Thanks!
Oh, yes one more thing, My oscar is around 4" and my JDemp is around 2 1/2 " just for info....

At that size he should be fine. If they become terrors they usually do so at 5-7 inches.

he is very small so he should be fine, i really can't vouch for after they reach this size they'll kill everything", because to be honest you never know.. some fish are always terror's...some never terror's at all...

and the correct scientific name is now "Parachromis" rather than nandopsis

pics up tomorrow am..... there in sleep/dark now. Thanks for all the input!!!

there not as evil as people make out,,but have to watch them...yep better to get tank mates now n let em grow up together

I keep mine with Cichla, RD, Frontosa, Nicaraguense, Marbled Goby. Should be fine to young adulthood, then it might turn.

they'll be fine.....and get the 140 as its bigger in the footprint than the 125 gallon. Also if you want some other tankmates with them..as some of the others said..get them now then later so you can grow them together and have them not go up on eachother.

I have 2 Jags and have just put in 2 Red breasted Piranha. The Jags are a bit larger than the Piranhas and should be able to keep the 2 reds in check. But as with any aggresive fish you should always be cautious when putting them together, cause you just never know what may happen. All 4 of them are still young and hopefully they will grow together well.
