There's no such species as Nandopsis Motaguense. The genus is Parachromis.

And what you have there is a Parachromis Freidrichstahlii. They're two separate species of the same genus.

It was faded out and combined into Cichlasoma but when that genus was restricted to the port cichlids, it was brought and and dusted off for all centrals. But as the new genus were defined, it currently appears to be restricted to the three island species from Cuba and Haiti.

Not Nandopsis any more its parachromis so there the same fish just under a different name

Yours would appear to be a freddy

I wouldn't call them rare, maybe just not as popular as the managuense/motaguense. I think they are great looking fish. Good find!
