So today I got a nandus nandus from my LFS. I have seen it listed for a couple weeks, but today was the first time I actually saw it in the tank.

Anyways, right now he is about 3" and in a 20g with two belonesox belizanus. I am unsure of whether they can live in brackish water. I have read online that they benefit from brackish water, but my tank should be high low end/low medium end brackish. The tank may also in the future become higher end brackish and I will make two brackish tanks at that point for my low end brackish fish. Could the nandus do okay in a brackish tank? And how high can the SG get?

Also, is there any hope of the nandus becoming somewhat active?

Activity wise, no chance, these are an ambush predator, mine are almost invisible 99% of the time either in thge folage or half burried in the sand. only see them generally when they are striking for food of if they are sitting very still pretending to be a leaf.
I know these are found in very weak brackish water but mainly in fresh water, but I am not aware of them being kept in brackish aquariua, if they are i would think very weak brackish would be the way. I have kept my 5 in freshwater all of their lives.
