First off, this is the first time I am trying to grow baby tears (Hemianthus callitrichoides) I honestly think I am going to hate Hemianthus callitrichoides, LOL. "Only a prediction" but since I have converted my other tank into a low tech system I have a few extra piece I can put together. Hardscape is coming soon. No idea on the stock just yet. ;)

I got great deal on this Fluval Ebi Nano, its actually really cool. Got it for $89 bucks out the door.

As a kit it came a few cool items, some substrate, 13w compact florescent light "not too sure about this," an ugly internal filter, a soft little mat precut to fit under the tank, some shrimp stuff and a 3D background.

The background didn't do much for me so I popped it off. It left behind some ugly silicone which took some serious work with a super dull razor blade, but it got the job done.

Substrate, I mixed it with some left over Eco-complete.

Now I wait until it fills in, which gives me plenty of time to sit around and think about what to put in it.

It looks good. I have been looking at the Fluval mini light you got in the setup. Whats your opinion on it? Does it seam to made with high quality materials or would I just be paying for the name?

That little mini light seems to cover the tank area perfectly well, but the bulb is a bit cheap, puts out good light though for now. Im think about replacing the bulb though. The design with the clamp and it swivels nicely. Next time I take out the camera I'll snap some close up pictures of the fixture for you. ;)

interesting tank... seems a lot of people setting up small tanks recently, will be interesting to see how this one turns out :)

Cool. Keep us updated! I'm thinking of trying out some HC maybe. I had some credit from Petsmart for the Stealth Heater recalls. Didn't really need anything at the time, so I picked up a 2.5g and filled it with some leftover Eco-Complete. Don't know what I'm doing with mine yet either, lol!

you gonna need some CO2 injection in that tank for Baby Tears to grow properly... alternatively you could use a liquid carbon product... good luck, looks good :)

Same thing I was going to say, not sure you can dose enough excel for the HC demands. IF HC is the plant then there might not be a problem.

Very nice! Add some of those 10w LED floodlamps if you need more juice :D
