My friend is building a 10g nano tank, and he wants to make it monster, he plans to heavily plant it...but we have a problem, we can't come up with any solid ideas on what a good "nano" inhabitant would be. Any suggestions?
I have a 12" nano cube and I keep a pair of dario dario. Nice small fish that has cichlid tendencies. Busy fish. My tank is heavily planted and. Is only lit by a small office lamp. Problem is the plants grow so fast I'm constantly trimming it or it looks over grown. I also have a ton of cherry shrimp which I occasionally sell. I mainly keep the shrimp as feeders for the scarlet badis. They're hard to get off of live foods so the baby shrimp make constant snacks. If ur interested I can take some photos and send u some shrimp and plants. Good luck. Mini tanks are fun
Galaxy Rasbora, is what i would go with, in a nicely planted tank they would light it up with heir beautiful colors, i remember when they where first introduced and were super expensive but know they're fairly cheap, they are also easy to breed, but a little shy. You can google them but they have many names because they kept switching families for a while, i don't even think they're in the Rasbora family any more, but i could be wrong.
You can go with some nice small rainbow fish such as gertudae, furcata, and treadfin. Galaxy rasbora is very nice too. And of course you can't go wrong with dwarf shrimps.
