So after spending a couple hours browsing a new to me LFS. I came home to find one of my heaters went haywire and tried to bake all my fish alive! :irked: It was 92 degrees in my tank when we caught it.
My husband was saying hi to our GG and when he put his hand up to the tank he noticed it felt warm.
They had all already been fed for the night and I was headed off to bed soon myself so I probably wouldn't have noticed!
Oh the tears there would have been if I had woke up to a tank full of dead fish!
It was an old heater that was passed down with the tank from his uncle so I guess it's time to get a new one. Everything is breaking lately! First one of my canister filters a week ago and now this! Hopefully nothing else breaks anytime soon cause I'm out of money. Cashed in the change jar for gas last night. You know what that means....No beer money for me this week :nilly:

Sorry to hear about the heater but good thing you caught it. I dont know what Id do without beer money!

I did do a water change when it happened to try to help cool it down. I did less than 50% though I was worried about changing the temp too drastically and shocking the fish. and I also took off some of the lids to let it get air and hopefull let some of the heat out. Everyone is still doing well so I guess we caught it in time.
