Nasty Red devil... what do you think?

I've got a 9" red devil in a divided 180. I posted a video to show that he doesn't like anything in his tank, included a pvc pipe. He has bitten me a few times and it doesn't feel the greatest. I like him though. I'm trying to decide if I want to keep him or not. I think I'd enjoy a community more than one solitary fish, and he doesn't seem to want to cooperate in a community setting.

That's one of the best looking RDs I've seen. Give him the whole tank a fish that good looking deserves it.
 
Keep him! If not let me know and I'll make room! Seriously.
 
Haha it is almost tempting.

I really enjoy keeping him, and he was a very nice find, but I cannot justify keeping him in a 180 gallon by himself. I thought of slowly trying to encourage him getting along with other fish, maybe start with a large pleco? Or some convicts that my friend has grown up lol.

Think a larger fish would keep him in line or just create bloodshed?
 
I see your predicament. He's mean but man is he a good looking RD! Now you have an excuse to buy another tank. Let the RD have his tank with possibly a school of Silver Dollars and then get another large tank for a community. Don't get rid of that guy unless you really want to make a change.
