So I noticed this nasty smell in my tank and the water started to get cloudy so I did a few water changes. Didn't really help then the tank got green, huge algae bloom. So I decided to open up my filters and in each of my canister filters a couple plants got sucked in and must have been rotting. It smelt so bad not like a rotten egg smell. When I first started this hobby I bought some of those plant bulb things that are supposed to grow into a plant well mine came all mushy and that had the same smell as the inside of my filters. I replaced all the media and was wondering what I should do about the biological media as it smells like the rest of the stuff. Do I clean it or just keep using it? I have seachem matrix as my biomedia.
