So I was watching the national geographic channel, the show 'Hooked' came on. It was about Invasive Snakeheads. The first half was about the North Snakehead, then the Giant Snakehead. But when they were in the Potomac river and electrocuting fish to temporarily stun and catch the Snakeheads, they showed a few fish in the nets. Two they showed and said were native, they showed maybe 2 seconds of another net with a fish. Nothing was said about that fish, then they went on to catch the Snakehead and tag it. But what I saw was not native, I didn't see, nor do I know if they released this fish or not, but it was a Clown Loach for sure! Does anyone know if the Clown Loach is banned like the Snakehead, is anyone worried over those fish in our waters?

As far as I know the clown loach is not banned anywhere in this country...There is one lake in my area that is rumored to have snakeheads and certain people fish for and eat them.

I don't think Clown Loaches are illegal anywhere in the US, I have seen a lot of aquarists with plenty of them all over.

I probaby should'nt divulge the location as it may be in some violation of the forum rules and I would'nt want to get this members thread deleted.

I guess you may be right. But I'm pretty sure that only applies to keeping them and not fishing. On a side not I'm kind of pissed I didn't see this episode of Hooked as I just recently started watching all the episodes on 'On Demand'....

Gov't/wildlife game people posted that they wanted fishermen to kill and report any Snakeheads they find. So I so no issue with posting where you can find them, plus you can see it on tv/net.

I guess 'banned' wasn't the right word, since I've seen them in stores too. But just wanted to know if it was ok to find them out in our waters?
And the location is in my original post. They killed all the fish in a Maryland pond with poison to control the ones in that area.

mmmmmmm....snakeheads.
So if I catch a snakehead and cut its head off and eat it, am I eating snake head or fish head?
