A story on the attempts to document Large freshwater fish and their habitats and why they are declinging in numbers. Some great photos too, Had no idea freshwater stingrays could be 2.4 metres across and 600 kilograms, or there were giant barbs of 300kgs or so!!!!

Anyway, thought it may be of interest to one of two of you.

I do think the population of paddlefish is WELL over the 1300 they said was estimated!!

Our mods should get them in touch with this site! There are some people here I believe that could actually be helpful!
 
It's nice to see someone looking after the wild monsters. BTW, why are some of those monsters not seen here?

Maybe they meant just in the Mississippi river basin? :confused:

They can't mean total in the U.S, because I know several waterways where there are tons of 'em.
