I have recently set up a native tank with a black crappie and alot of killies for him to snack on. My question is, since I have given my large pleco to my girlfriend, is there any native invertibrates or fish that will help cointrol my algae levels? My old pleco did a great job, but I don't want to compromise the native theme in my tank. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm...I have no idea what native invertebrates you can get there that would eat algae. What is your pH? You could nerite snails as long as your pH is steady at 8.0 and above as acidic water can erode their shells severely. Nerites are the most efficient algae eaters so far. My Clithon corona ate BBA, soft green algae that I culture, diatoms and green spot algae so far.
