Native Catfish Fry Identification

Need help iding this catfish fry... its a North American species not sure if it is a channel, Flathead or bullhead.

+1. The adipose fin (on the back near the tail) is fused with the caudal (tail) fin. All other North American catfishes have the two fins separate.

Definitely a madtom. Need a location and a relatively clear picture to determine what species it is, as there are a really good amount of madtom species.

Yeah, i haven't seen that fish in the 3 weeks Ive had him so that picture is the best I can do for now... He is from the Lehigh River... Out of the Madtom family pictures Ive seen he looks exactly like a stone cattie.

Actually, it's probably a Notorus insignis, the Margined Madtom, since that's the only Notorus species native to that watershed. The dark margins on the dorsal and caudal fins are indicators as well.

The problem with madtoms, as with many other fish species, is that if you don't know them very well, all 29 species virtually look alike since body-shape can be highly variable and identifiers are hard to spot on such small fish.
