Native ID from the LA river

Decided to go netting for the fun of it. What are these? Never done this before, but saw a bunch of little fish and was curious.

#1 - not sure but looks like a porgy or a pinfish or something similar
#2 - largemouth bass

The first fish was caught way inland. So it was caught in Freshwater. A few people IDed it as a couple of Saltwater fish.

I do not know about #1, but I would like to know the location you found it in.

#2 likely a large mouth, but it may be a spotted bass.
