Hello,

Last thread I made really pissed me off. I said I wouldn't post here anymore but for the good of my fish I will.

I started this thread to find out how you all feed your sunfish. I'm planning on keeping my fish on all live food.

I'll be breeding crayfish and using the young for food as well as European night crawlers.
I thought some kind of insect would be good to breed as well. Any suggestions? I'd prefer something that could be bred outside.

Also,
My stock in a 75 gallon right now is
1 redbreast
1 pumpkinseed
2 green sunfish x pumpkinseed hybrids

And I'm hoping to catch a bullhead cat as well.
Is that list good or should I pick up more sunnies?

Hey don't worry about the other post, that happens from time to time, mostly people are helpful an nice. I don't know about outside, but you could culture, meal worms, fruit flies, brineshrimp, or during the spring you can also focus on collecting whatever hatch is occurring in your part of the country.

I agree with you one hundred percent, I used to raise scuds and Least Killfish to supplement the pellets I fed my greens, I don't know about outside but crickets will live in a garage that's kept warm with a space heater year around.

You can break rainforest roaches very easily... I have mine in a cracked 40 breader no light and every time i finish a crate of eggs i throw it in there for their hiding.. The roaches cant climb the glass and you can put fish food, cat or dog food, oranges, apples, really anythimg to feed them... They breed like crazy... I got 50 for 5 dollars about 5 months agoand i havent ran out... I feed them to my bearded dragon and my arowana occationaly... The best par is that they are supper nutritious... One roach equals about 6 to 7 large crockets.
