Here is a sauger that I caught for a fellow MFKer. Ive been holding him for awhile in a cooler but last night decided to add him to my tank until I can ship him. After watching his bad assness I dont know if I want to get rid of him. COOL fish!

What part of the country are saugers native to?

Sauger are very widespread. If I remember correctly you live in Alabama. If so you should be able to catch them below the dams at Wheeler, Guntersville, and Pickwick lakes on the Tennessee River. I use to fish Guntersville all the the time when I lived in Alabama and it is a damn good bass lake!

I have fished Guntersville before! Caught an 8 pound LMB out there. Never heard of Sauger though, and I've lived here all my life.. I will look into them thanks to you! Cool fish indeed.
