I've been thinking about using my 260 as paludarium with native UK fish. I'm thinking about using all native plants, rocks etc and stocking with a few thrown trout and minnows. The room the tank is kept in never gets above 18c so I don't think it would be too warm for the trout. Anyone see any other problems? Anyone here tried it?

Haven't tried it, sounds awesome though.

I'd actually consider investing in a chiller, I'm no expert, but 18° might be a little high; plus in the rare summers that we do get, it may come in handy...

Hope you go ahead though, would be nice to see

I've done a bit of research and apparently 20c is where they start to get stressed, the room is usually colder than 18c, this is about as warm as it gets. Currently looking into it so if I go ahead I'll get some pics uploaded.

I'm pretty sure your minnows wouldn't last that long with trout or are you stocking them in your tank purposely as "nibbles" and not as a show fish.

Yeah the minnows were more to fill the tank out a bit until the trout were bigger then the minnows would become snacks. I'm going to give it a try and will start a thread when I get started.

I've create smal paludariums but never one as big as what you're planning...

Have you considered how much area of the tank will be land / how much water etc?

Since i would say depending on that choice, you will be pretty much what you can and cannot stock comfortably...
