I live in Ohio and was wondering if any of the native plants can be planted in the aquarium?

If so, what kind?

plants are just like fish. if you can duplicate the natural environment in the tank, they should do well.
cabomba and hornwort are two natives that are often used in the aquarium.

ludwigia palustris should be all over the place in Ohio. You'll usually find it growing immersed or right on the shore line. I'm sure there are many others but that's the one that I know about that you shouldn't have any trouble finding.

May b he means what can he harvest from his area that he could put in his tank?

Yes this. I want to be able to find plants that I can put directly into my tank.

Ill check out (and try to find) Ludwigia for it.

Thanks!!

There should be jungle val, hornwort, foxtail, elodea, Eurasian water milfoil(not native can be found), sag(possibly), ludwigia, and Lillie's.
