do natives on this part of the forum have to be americans. ie, can they be aussie natives?

i assumed "native" just meant non tropical, like you see all these fish comming out of the amazon and africa, and native kind of just grouped the rest all into one group

Well the title of the section is COLD water, TEMPERATE and NORTH AMERICAN NATIVE fish. So if it fits into any of those then sure as hell we will take it :) . BTW temperate would be like a fish you can keep in the aquarium without a heater but doesn't really overwinter if the water gets colder than 55 or so.

Hmmm.... I'm from Singapore... so native is kindda tropical fishes to me?
Love some of your "native" fishes especially the murray cod which is australian but kindda having second thoughts about being able to keep the water cold enough for their optimal health.

ok. so where can i type stuff up bout native aussies. i could probably keep them with out a heater but i will anyway?

Your best bet would be to post your questions about Australian fishes in the "General Freshwater" or "Other Monster Fish" forums.
