My smaller native tanks houses the smaller fish and I wait for them to grow so they don't get eaten when I move them to a larger tank, it a 55 gallon, I have a few sunnys in there, maybe 3 inches long, a small green sunfish (very small, maybe 2 inches?) and a pumkpkin seed sunny (beautiful fish) that is about3 and a half inches long i'd guess.

what my question is, is if i caught a small bass that is roughly the same size and these guys, do you think they would be ok in there with it till it is larger also? My concern is that even though it wouldn't be able to eat the sunnys it might be a jerk and chase them around and stress them out.

what do ya guys think? can a small or largemouth bass live in the tank without becoming a mass murderer?

can they? yes.
will they? maybe.
depends on the fish.
only way to know for sure is to try it and have a back up tank in case of crankyness.

IME, LMB aren't really that aggressive towards tankmates. Obviously, if it fits in the LMB's mouth, it's done for, but if not tankmates might be ok

my sunfish seem fairly well behaved, they chase eachother a little bit, my pumpkin seed does that but for the most part they seem to get along. i'm going fishing tomorrow :) maybe i'll add some tank mates soon!

Sunfish are usually meaner than the bass...seen it go poorly for the LMB more often than the sunnies.

sounds like you want a bigger tank.
i have a larger tank but im not ready to put these guys in there, ive only been keeping very small versions of these fish :) when they get larger i'll start tossing them into my big tank :)
