I've got an O that is just too tough for anyone I can putwith him. 75g tank and about 6-7 inches long. A few weeks ago I posted about my O getting bored like my Doberman when I stepped out for a half hour and locked her in the living room and she shredded my couches. Same thing except my O was in a 55 and he shredded my pleco from the underside which seems to the be the only vunerable spot on his body. So the thing is my O was with a LMB and he was a BAMF my bass went to my aunts farm bc she's got a huge pond we fish on and stuff My O seems diffrent so I cleaned a pingpong ball and put a hole in it so it will sink and then I took another and ran some sewing thread thru the center of the ball and suction cupped it to the bottom. He moved around more and fights with the Ping pong balls but what can I put in there to keep him company on the native end having the bass was the bed thing I ever kept so if I can find a mean natve I can catch near IL Iwould love it

The oscar dosen't really need company and is probably happier by itself. Any fish you put with it will likely be harassed by the oscar or vise versa. In addition to that an adult oscar at 12"+ will eventually take up most of the space in the tank anyway.

i would go with a large green sunfish of equal size or as said leave him by himself

You might try convicts. They generally hold their own and are faster than an oscar.

I can't think of any natives that would be a good candidate.

Otherwise just keep him by himself. He's happier alone which is why he tries to kill anyone else in his territory. Some oscars just aren't meant for tankmates.

if you want anything else in that tank, i suggest a substantial increase in filtration
