Went out and took some pictures today. All of these live near my place.

What is funny is that when I was growing up, we never saw RES any where, they were a novelty. All we really found where Snappers, assorted Muds and Musks, and the occasional Chicken and Softshell Turtle, but now I see RES everywhere. They are a nuisance now and can be found in just about any body of water to be had, hell there is a group of them in the drainage ditch running along the road here and its never more than 6 inches deep. I just cannot believe how common they are now down here. Its also surprising to me how cold tolerant they are, I have seen them basking when it was around 35-39 degrees out during the winter, which is admittedly not long lasting nor common temps here in La any longer, but still.
