Are there any native fish local to me (around pittsburgh) or that are readily available at LFSs (ex. Pygmy sunfish) that I could successfully house in a 2 gallon unheated tank with filtration of only bacteria and moss for life?

No responses so I'm going to assume that's people politely saying "don't put any fish in a 2 gallon" :). I'll probably just make it a creek hardscape then.

not sure what is around u but you might be able to fit some small sticklebacks, or darters, or killifish.
I wouldn't put those fish you mentioned in a 2gal tank. Except the least killie or pygmy killie. Pygmy sunfish is a good choice. I am afraid that its limited options for a native nano tank.

That's a lot more thank thought I could fit in! There's some least killies at my LFS so maybe I'll pick up a trio. Would they be ok with no aeration or should I get a tiny air pump?

Ok so I've decided what I'm doing. I'm going to make it into a hardscape of my local creek (get rocks and maybe some small driftwood from it) and put in the last snail I have from my local quarry (the only one my darters didn't eat).
