Im setting up a 220 gal and I plan to house 3 sevs, 2 geos, 2 blood parrots, a convict, 2 rainbow cichlids, a blue acara, a sajica, 2 hrp, a bleekeri, a flag cichlid, and possibly a chocolate. I was wondering, can I keep bluegill in a tank like this? If not, are there any other species I could catch to put in this tank?

Just some advice here, I'd go with 5-6 geos and leave it at them plus the rest of your stock. Sunfish and cichlids do do very well together though as they're centrarchidae is the closest related family to cichlidae and vice versa. If you were to do a sunfish I'd do a pumpkinseed though, they can hold their own better and are more colorful, bluegills only tend to have amazing colors once they get 8-10" + IME.

Thanks for the advice. So what makes you say I should just add more geos? Do they do better in groups? I've been told that I should add more than just two rainbow cichlids as well.

Geos are schooling fish when young, best to have 5-12 when they're younger. Adults can be kept in smaller groups, however.

Bowfin do horribly with other bowfin. Lol

IDK personally. I just know a guy an the pittsburgh aquarium who takes care of a 3,000ish gallon outdoor pondquarium that has 3 bowfin in it. He says they get along well but take down a handful of 8-12" bluegills every month.
