My sunfish, yellow bass, and perch have some small anchor worm looking things attached to their fins especially their caudal fins. They are also shaking their heads and occasionally rubbing on the bottom, rocks, driftwood, etc. There is some cloudy areas on the soft dorsals, pectoral fins, and a bit in caudal fins.

I have treated with melafix and pimafix. Then I treated with prazipro. After treatment I did a 50 percent water change and added stress coat and aquarium salt. They have good appetites still, but the fin issue is not getting better.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

it sounds like you have achor worm and none of the treatments mentioned treat for it. What size tank?

Keep in mind anchor worms are a crustacean and arent affected by wormers like PraziPro. Research Lernea and you'll find a few meds available

I wasn't necessarily convinced they were anchorworms...small and they lack the split tail. All worms were attached on the fins and none on the bodies (that I could see). But if that's what you guys think it is, I will treat for it.

Are there effective treatments that can be used for anchorworms?

I have nuked anchor worm with sodium chlorite before. Be warned, this will destroy your bb colony
