ok a few questions. whats a florida black bass? how big does it get? is it almost like a LMB? i want somthing thats an agressive eater... i wanna choose from a warmouth, florida black bass, black crapie, and brown bullhead. the brown bullhead will probably be in there anyway. do u think they would all go good together??

You shouldn't have an issue with the Bass and Bullhead, as long as the bullhead is a good size (Same goes for the Bass,) but I'm not too sure about the Black Crappie. I have yet to try that, but my Black Crappie that I got in November is still too small for the Native tank. (About 3")

"Black bass" is the common name for all Micropterus species, including largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, Coosa, etc. The Florida bass is variously considered a subspecies of largemouth bass (the "Florida strain" largemouth, Micropterus salmoides floridanus) or a full species (Micropterus floridanus). It is the largest black bass. It needs a very large tank or a pond; what do you have available? If it's less than a few hundred gallons, I suggest you leave out the Florida bass and go for some of your other choices.

well atm i have a 135 gallon collecting dust... and i want to make a native tank. i have a pond to realese the fish in (private pond). thats what i have available. well where could i get a smallmouth or largemouth bass? i want somthing with a big mouth so i can feed it my leftover shiners from a day of fishing.

You can probably get LMB from a local hatchery or pond supplier. Check your state fish and game agency's website for any rules on stocking ponds and a list of vendors in the state. Smallmouth are harder to come by. If you want fish to keep in your 135 for life, any sunfish, rockbass, yellow perch, etc. will work. These guys will eat typical bait-size shiners. Shiners also make good tank fish, so any too big to be eaten will make handsome additions to your tank.

haha yeaa. how long could a LMB stay in a 135? because i would like to have him for a while with a bullhead and mabey a smallmouth or a perch.
