Ok guys/gals,

I looked through the thread for a while and didnt see anything on this. For the guys who have 500+ gal tanks, have you ever thought of creating a natural food source for the PB? I mean like small SA cichlids. Have enough in there where they will spawn and make a natural food source for the bass? I know that PB are aggresive and will eat until they physically can hold anything else in there mouth, and then try to catch more, BUT is it possible? I was thinking if you set up a small SA cichlid tank first (6months or so) then introduce the bass, it may work!?!?!?!

You guys tell me what you think? My plan is to come back home (back to the United States) and build a 8'l x 4'w x 3'h tank, and start my cichla collection all over again.

Anyhow, Im all ears (eyes in this case)....

You'll need a small river (or a tank like Arapaimag) Peacock bass are voracious eaters. Whatever you put in there will not be enough to consistently supply food for one, let alone a few.

JohnPTC has a colony of Red Devils in his 10,000g tank with Pbass, Aros, Arapiama, Polys, Dats, and Catfish. The RDs get picked off, but he still has a good amount left. They are there as a food source...just not a main food source as he still has to feed them.
