Does anyone have a map of the rivers of South America where our fish come from? I know that some rays are named after the town they are collected near. Where are the maps that will let you see that area? I checked Google Earth and I think I saw my wild caught Motoro. ;)

i have seen it... i think it was posted on here before.... but it is mainly certain black rays that have set areas.... motoros come from all over the river

Motoros are the widest ranging rays. They are found as far North and West as Peru and Columbia and as far south and east as Paraguay. Black rays are restricted to certain rivers in Brazil such as the Xingu.

As well as Africa and I believe Australia, but most "ray" talk in this forum is dedicated to South American rays..most of which are in th Potamotrygon genus.
