Yes. Remember the Amazon is a Huge river, and different fish are found in different parts. I don't know of any one fish that can be found from one end to the other.
 
Silver arowana inhabit the same areas as various peacock bass. Both are found in the slower tributaries and back water areas close to shore.
 
Silvers and p bass live, exactly, in the same place, which is in the smaller rivers in the Amazon....p bass live by the margin whener you see pieces of wood or submerged roots or trees you will find p bass...when you take your boat from, say, one submerged tree to another, around 10 or 20 metres, you have a lot of chances to see silvers swimming by...and, marvellous to observe, most always in pairs...

and rays, and alligators. I have seen them all in the same place, within 50 metre radius.
