I recently received 4 large tanks, each at about 500 gallons. Two of which will be filled with water and used as turtle tanks with other assorted local fish. When I picked up thee tanks the aquarium threw in uv lights and a sand filter. I am trying to draw up plans to put this all together but it is a bit overwhelming. I really got a great deal for all this because we use it for conservation education, now we want to do right by setting it up properly.

Here is the uv:

I think I have a great start. But I think I still need some type of mechanical filtration. Any suggestions?

The "sand filter" looks like a media tower.

Are you looking to plumb all tanks together or do you want four individual systems?

If you want these set up right I can be there tomorrow at 8:00 to pick them up and give you updates from my basement.

Welcome to mfk by the way.

I could not find much information about "media tower" but there was much about fluidized sand filters. Thanks for the offer to set-up bu I am just trying to gather information at this point.
