there's really nothing basic about thier care, they need some of the most advanced techniques and equipment avaible to even professionals.

has anybody ever been to the DC aquarium? They have a whole tank of these and I'm gunna take a guess that by looking around at the place they dont have a very large budget. I'm sure if some research was done and maybe even spoke to people who have kept them before some tips will make them easier to deal with.

In the semi near future I am planning on making a tank for the finished basement for a few of these guys. they are so neat!

Agreed. I've delt with them. It's something I would never put on my plate by choice even as an aquarium.

I kept 6 nautili for a while because I thought they were 'cool' too. Huge mistake. After putting up a darkened and shrouded tank for them and installing photo developing room lamps, they proved to be as exciting as watching paint dry. They clung to the corners (and each other) and caves. And only came out to feed. Then, right back into the corners/caves. They fed easily on mollies, ghost shrimp, small crabs, bloodworms, and earthworms. But their inactivity always made the 150 look like I was keeping an empty tank running.
