 i need help with filtration and water changes iteams i need??

Do some research. (google)

By the way, research means looking things up by yourself rather than asking someone to tell you what to do.

After looking into it, and still have some specific questions, feel free to ask here.

 ok srry i ddid but i don't realy understand it i havent found any stuff about water changes what iteams you need i've done reserch but i havent got much:confused:

Ok, I agree with doing research, there is a lot of info right in this forum, do a search from above.

We didn't know you had done any research as you didn't state it in your opening lines.

Ask more specific questions and oyu'll get more specific answers :D.

Water changes in a pond are different than for a tank, the higher surface area of a pond helps with gas exchange but increases water loss thru evaporation which increases pollutant concentration :D.

Basically get the pond up and running and adjust your W/C's to the pond's needs by testing the pond's chemistry.

Are you wanting to buy or build?

What are your DIY skills?

In otherwords 'if show a picture of a screwdriver would you hurt yourself with it :D '.

That's a nice filter, I did'nt notice the cost of replacement elements tho.

What are you wanting to build the pond out of or is this a hard liner?

Don't worry, we can have you pennyless but with a beautiful pond in next ot no time .

By the way what kind of budget are we talking and do you have a boss who dictates aesthetics (DM / DW / DGF)?

Dr Joe

ok thanks i'm kinda on a buget of 1200$ and the boss is my parnets, i don't know much about building stuff but my dad does, not a clue what hard liner is

i am wanting to build it a DIY kida thing:D
so what your saying about water changes is more often or more at a time

well first off you wanna kind of map out where your puting this pond in your back yard...outline with a hose or some string...your gunna be putting the water fall at the opposite end of the skimmer/filter, so your gunna wanna map that out to. There are kits out there for the size pond your building...its called a micro pond kit i think. Comes with...underlyment, pond liner(45mil epdm, more then likely), skimmer, waterfall, all the equipment you need. Theres some type of calculation out there on how many tons of rocks you'll need, I'm not at home right now so i dont have it handy with me at the time. But youll also have to figure how big your gunna make your waterfall as well to figure the rock tonage youll need. I dont know if I can post links advertising as i am new to here but look up Aquascape, there the company that id buy most the products from even though its a little on the pricy side...the equipment will last long and there pond liner last up to 20 years or so.

Hope that I was able to help you a little.
