I got this GT a few weeks ago and although I haven't be able to get the fish into a larger tank it is still showing signs of comfort and eating everything that enters the tank. Just a little curious what gender it may be as the coloration differs from other specimens I have seen.
Am I wrong to believe this is a GT? or is it female? help please

It is definitely a GT. It's color looks to be a little washed out, probably due to the white sand and young age. As far as sexing it goes, I think you may have to wait a while before you can get anything definite. However, if I had to guess right now I would guess male.

looks exactly like my male when i bought him, girlies tend to be a lot more drab in terms of colour whereas your little guy looks very colourful for his size, i would put my money on male

=] good i'm glad I want a big boy, though female would have been fine and almost prefered, very tame gt I have thrown other fish in with him durring major tank maintenance and though it showed interest there was never problems even with fish that fit in its mouth, I hope to one day hand feed it, right now it hides durring maintenance =p
