Well, I finally got a larger tank, 120 gal tall (show?) tank. Approx 48x 31x18.
Not quite the 300 I was hoping to find but a huge step up from my 55s.

I got it for free on the local C-list, but without a stand. So my question is what are my options here? I've seen some great instructions on here for a wood stand, and I will build one soon, but for now, until I can spend the money to build a nice one I am looking for ideas to get me by.
I've seen the cinder block set ups and though I'm sure they would work, I don't think I'd ever be comfortable with it as I have 3 kids at home and a few dogs. I'd be stressed about it constantly.
I've been thinking of using a set of kitchen type counter/cabnet or a heavy duty coffee table of some sort. I'm not sure if either would hold up under that weight .
So....any other ideas??
Thanks.

Use cinder blocks and make a cover of some sort out of wood cabinets.

I really want to build a wooden stand but don't trust my wood working skills all that much. From the pics and videos I've seen it does look like a simple design and almost so easy a cave man could do it...
I just need to go out and get the 2x4s and do it.

it's incredibly easy, just get some 90 degree wood clamps to make things even easier.
