Gotta know can i house 3 female adult red devils in a tank with my large male ?

my male is a total d bag and is currently solo but i have worked out a deal where i can aquaire for a smoking trade 2 larger females and i currently have a female.

my plan was to do a total rescape i managed to find a HUGE drift wood center piece plenty of twisted roots , a real gem, but what my question is .... if i pull the male ... do a total rescape, could i put all the females in with my big guy or would it turn into a giant cluster f?

please help... fish are being delivered in an hour

and yes if it doesnt work out i have empty large tanks to do the deed..

or would it be better to run a rotation of my females?

Chances are slim to none that it will work out long term. If a pair forms, the other females will become target fish. Even if a pair does form, the male may eventually beat the tar out of his partner. The larger the tank, the better the odds.

I'm not that familiar with red devils, but I have a foursome of breidhori in a 150g and they all seem to get along. He has bred with both of them and the pair defends the fry just fine. It just depends on how the group is with other. Good luck

i have no idea 2 of the 3 females are unknown to me.. but larger like my male , my current female was like 60 % his size

........ if you were, you'd understand why I previously posted what I did. :)

Good luck mac.

yeah , i think i will just try to rotate them into my big tank , or bounce him around like a stud lol, was just trying to have more than 2 fish in my big tank.

lmao, that what he did to my female , so she got pulled , thats why i found some more durable females more his size ,

i guess i just wondered if hed take a few ladies or if standard d bag devil mentality would ensue

I had a few Africans in with my red devil. It was cool because there was two totally different things going on. The Africans just avoid his mouth, and he couldn't catch them if he tried..lol

As for the 2 females, have a tank up and running ready to move some fish.
