Well I finally got my 90 gallon tank and got all set up. I'm looking to add a bottom dwelling fish that can handle some abuse because my cichlids can be a little rough. I would also like it to be some what of a clean up crew thanks in advance

This a little risky but I have seen large clown loaches in with chlids...

Ive had success with keeping pimelodella catfish with aggressive fish. As long as they arent tiny compared to the fish.

I like pims and Raphael cats. From what I've heard pims like to be kept in groups is this correct?

I've heard that as well. The only pictus cat I ever had was a loner and he did ok. Very active catfish though. All day he would just swim back and forth across the front of the tank. Total opposite from the Raphael which hides all day long.

Most pims are schoolers as juvies.. but as adults can get territorial with eachother. featherfin syno's are great to house with cichlids.. and most the syno family are imo the best tank-mates for cichlids ( they are found in the wild with africans.) Just usually depends what size tank you have as a majority will get 12" and some larger, some smaller. they are abit on the expensive side compared to alot of other cats, but are colorful and hearty fish. 10$ and up, I've seen some of the rarer ones for 50$
