Hey guys. I have a 70 long (48 x 18 x 18) in my room and i am keeping a bunch of fish in there to grow up, and i am keeping the ones that behave well and fit in with my african knives.

I am looking for a cichlid that wont be at my other fishes throats and has a bit of pizzazz and can stay in my tank(not bland, huge or lazy). I looked at severums but i want to keep my plants together.

Current fish:
-4" african knife (staying)
-5.5" african knife (staying)
-2.5" pink tail chalceus (most likely selling at
5-7" due to activity)
-3" featherfin cat (selling at 4-6")

Any contenders for this role?

it is 70 gals

edit: at current i only plan on keeping the knives, maybe only 1 if they grow intolerant of each other

Synspilium is a very attractive cichlid and for the most part is pretty docile but will out grow that 70
i cant do that. my 70 is likely the only tropical tank i will have for 10 or so years or i get my own house after school

My electric blue acaras never hurt anything. Even when breeding. Might just be my pair though.

I think i might just get some swordtails, cichlids will come another day. especially when i have a tank open for a parachromis species :D

I would add more knife fish, they do well in groups.
For cichlids I would stay on the African theme and get some kribs.
African butterfly fish would be nice for surface activity.
