I have 7 modesta that I need a home for as the tank has to be removed to show the house for sale. They are 2.5" to 4".

I do not have the time to even think of shipping them. I am selling my house and have to remove my 135 for staging. Sorry, I like them too.
If you raise the tank temp to the mid 80's you can get the females to develop and carry eggs, just have not been able to get them to breed!!

I believe in the wild they run in fast moving currents to spawn. You would need a raceway with a means of collecting the eggs downstream.
I have 7 and kept them with clowns, yo yo, kubota, dario and zippers. They were all in a 135 with lots of cover and caves. The modesta were agressive at feeding, but mostly kept to themselves. With a large enough group they work put there own pecking order.
Modesta are found in the deep pools in the river in the dry season, they spawn with the arrival of the monsoon rains. It has been reported that the eggs are boyant and absorb water.
