need a I.D. on bump nose fish

Was at a crappy LFS earlies and they had a tank full of africans that somebody traded in. I was looking for anything mismarked that I could get for a good price like I always do and I saw these weird fish. They were labeled as assorted africans like always and underneath said that all of them were from lake malawi which I'm sure was wrong.

Couldn't get a great picture of them but this is what I got.

the looked like they were deformed but there were 4 of them that looked just like this so I don't know. They had what looked like noses that draped over the whole front of their face. No top jaw, just a weird nose. Looked just like ziggy lol.

Anybody know what they are? Sorry for the stupid post, I've got 13 tanks setup with ca/sa's and not a single african.

Not deformed! I have one! 'cept mine is white. They're labeotropheus trewavasae.

Labeotropheus trewavasae for sure. The pics show all malawi cichlids

thanks guys, I must have seen all females although there were probably males too. Are these guys real common or are they worth anything..?

Depends on the species. They seem to sell pretty good if you want them for breeding purposes. A lot of people like them.

maybe I will start my venture into africans with these guys.. I do have the water for them and the fish store sucks so I can probably get 6 adults for $20-30.

here's a couple pics of my west thumbi island-

they're pretty common, i see them every once and a while. a typical one like yours would go for as much as a normal african cichlid of the same size. some breeds go for a little more, but still, they're fairly inexpensive fish.
