Need a ID...on a tree...c'mon horticulturists!

Saw this at the dallas world aquarium and really want to know what type of palm it is so I can figure out if it will survive outdoors around here... Pic one is of the leaves pic 2 is of the base/trunk. It was to difficult to get better whole pictures because that tree was at least 50+ft tall and those leaves probably 30ft. The base was about 4-5ft diameter if that helps any. Thanks ~Trent

Random bit of knowledge, palms aren't trees. They're monocots and not dicots, like true trees. They're more an overgrown bush.

I have no idea what it is though.
