about the past week or so he has been a lil jumpy, has not messed with anything in the tank until now pulling up plants attacking the powerhead and so on.i know oscars will move thing around to their liking but i can't figure out why now. i have noticed the start of a bed in one corner of the tank, maybe reaching sexual maturity?can someone please tell me .

Sounds like typical Oscar behavior to me. Keeping plants in an Oscar tank is futile. You also should protect your heater and thermometer if possible. How big is your tank? Try giving him a ping pong ball to play with.

the heater and thermometer are protected i have them behind the powerhead were he cant get to them, he's in a 55 long all by himself.and your right about the plants but he seems to like them in there .thanks i'll try that with the ping pong ball thanks again.

I agree with AMG, he seems pretty normal to me. My Oscar does the same thing every so often. Moving the gravel, they love that.
