I am currently having an issue with what I suspect to be gill flukes in my tank, I have my polypterus, iridescent sharks and a handful of feeder guppies in there(Stupid me for not QTing them),
Anyways I picked up some meds for it, and am treating the whole tank, using the meds at 1/2 the recommended dose. I have the salt at 2tsp per gallon, temp is around 80*F.
My ammonia/nitrite are both at 0, I don't have a nitrate test kit, nor do I have a Ph one, *Around 6 months ago I did check the Ph from my tap and it was more towards the 7.5+ range* I was changing roughly 50% of the water each every day to every other day.
On to my question, just wanted to give some background info so we are all on the same page
I picked up Parasite Clear, *made by Jungle* and on the instructions it says " Treatment may be repeated up to two times with 48 hours between treatments and a 25% water change."
Does that mean I can treat every 48hours until the disease is no longer present, or do I get to do just the 2 treatments and its "Magically Cured?" I know this may sound stupid to some of you, but I am overly paranoid with following medication directions, because I don't want to kill them by over medicating.
It lists the active ingredients, no amount for how much though, but they are Praziquantel, diflubenzuran, metronidazole and acriflavine.
Any ideas would be great! I would use Copper Safe, but the polypterus are apparently very anti-copper from what I have read.
