So, chances are my Jaguar is going to have to go to a new home.

So, I pose the question to you for ideas! I need a new "show" fish, or center fish, for my tank.

The current inhabitants are as follows:

6" JD - Stunted, very passive. Could be kept with discus.
2" - 2.5" Xanthic Convict
11" L021
9" L083
3x 2" - 2.5" Tinfoil Barbs

The JD might go to a 90gal would some community fish, but that's still up for debate. I would like a fish that gets at least ten inches, and preferably a SA/CA cichlid, but I'm open to suggestions. I was thinking if I can find a good priced red streak / red headed severum? I'm not sure, fire the ideas away!

Because of the waste the plecos make, I end up doing a 20-40% WC twice a week.

Maybe a vieja synspila for something unique (if you can find one).

frotosas are great center of attraction.

My tank is SA-based already, the pH wouldn't work for a front.

Funnily enough there were some very dull looking cichlids at my LFS labeled "synspilum", could be the same?

ph doesnt really come in to play all that often in freshwater aquaria. i have never adjusted the PH on my tanks (8.2 out of the tap) and at one point had fish from 4 different continents in the same tank. ph is no biggie. (unless breeding or for a few select species)

if you like fronts, go ahead. but if you want to keep with the CA/SA theme, u cud try a peacock bass, just be prepared to move it or upgrade in the future. or if ud rather not worry about that, you could try a nice big Red-Tailed Payara (hydrolycus tatauaia). he shud be able to hold his own agaisnt ur more docile cichids while adding a new level of activity to the tank.

:)

I do have plans for a 450g custom made tank when me and my girlfriend move from our basement suite to a duplex when I get my new job. But for now, nope, no reason. They're slow growers, and if it becomes cramped I'll get my ass into gear for the new tank. It's not like they're a ridiculously sized fish, the only other big fish in my tank are the plecos and the RH Cichlid in six months to a year.

The JD was stunted when I got it and hasn't grown an inch in about a year.
