I have a 60 gallon tank. Dimensions are 48in long, height is 24 and width is 15. I have a filter that is meant for 100 gallons. My temp is 76 and I currently have driftwood and some lace rock. I have two pictus catfish. I want to add some South American cichlids. Please give some ideas. Remember it's only 60.
Thank you

No one is going to answer when you ask a question as dubious as that.

I am confused. Do you want a new cool aggressive cat fish or South American Cichlids?

In a 60g. tank, with other fish in it, I would not do/add either. The aggressive cat fish and the South American Cichlids I am familiar with all get to big for a 60g. tank.

If you happen to set up a 300+ g. tank let me know and I can hook you up with both for free, you take care of shipping and give proof of established 300+ g. tank.

lima shovelnose maybe...
yes, they supposedly can get to 24" but i would assume thats rare, and if possible, it would take a long time. I keep limas in a 55 thats only 12 inches wide, they have yet to max out my tank in the 8 months i have had them, being fed properly and in good water.

Well I am not talking about like a huge fish, What I meant is there any other fun interesting catfish that is suitable for tank with this size. Lima nose would be cool however i feel that wouldn't be right to put a big fish in a 60.
by the thanks for the comments :)
and sorry for the confusing post.

Wish I could be more helpful. All the aggressive cats I personally have experience with get too big, murder even the toughest tank mates or both. I am going to have to look into the Lima Nose, it sounds like something I might like.

If you want any aggressive cat fish you should really up your filtration to turn over at least 10x a hour. Catfish are messy bro. But when you do that I would suggest a
bumblebee catfish

a bull head maybe
maybe even a gulper though im not to sure with the width of your tank also would prob eat your other fish....
