I need a reliable submersible pump 1000 to 3000gph that can handle being turn on and off every 10 to 20 minuets or so. Its going to be used for water exchanges from my aquaponics/tilapia breeding filtration room back into my main stingray ponds. I have a mag drive on there now and its for sure not up to the task, it clunks every time its turned on or off and I really don't trust those pumps.

Any recommendation or experience with any pumps that have lasted a long time using them in this fashion?

Thanks :-)

yeah, a little. Pretty easy to construct as I have them ready for all my grow bed for a flood and drain setup. This is more for moving water to another pond so all the tanks can get the benefits of the nitrate free water from the plants filtering it.

I don't think you are going to find too many people on here that are going to have a high volume pump that is they turn on and off every 10 to 20 minutes. Like me, I think most pumps are left on forever.

I have a little Giant that I have abused and keeps asking for more.

I would love to see some pictures of your system though!

I will have to take some. Right now its around a 4000 gallon system, maybe a little more. One reason I am trying to get my aquaponics system done so I might be able to cut down my water changes a little.

i can suggest. Buy a "Rio Hyper Flow" it's cheap and professional grade. just search it on google, "Rio HF 10 up to 20 i think?"

I can find any info on a good pump to use for this. Well pumps and sump pumps are on and off all the time, maybe I should start looking for one of those thats fish safe.
