it may sound stupid but both my filters intake tubes are directly in the path of my air bubbles/stones does the movement of the bubbles prevent the filter from working to its full capabilities

my filters make a funny noise when they take in the air bubbles. so i would say yeah.

the bubbles are keeping the crap in the water from getting sucked in.

it breaks the vacumm needed to move the water up the pipe. The rattling noise is the mag drive spin and then going from air to water causing it to shake in its casing.

i would just move the bubbles away from the intake tubes. this will interfer with the flow of your filters.

Also without water to cool the magdriev you could have filter failer and melted plastic.

Move the air stones away from the intakes. Don't really know the mechanics/theories behind such a situation but it's better to keep them away from each other

Over time, you may burn out the motor on your HOBs. Move the bubbler.
