Hi, I picked up this green colored wrasse this week and cant find an ID for it. I looked in all my usual places. Im suprised too because this wrasse has very distinct coloring and markings, so i figure someone knows what it is...

Its color is dark lime green background with redish brown banding. The side of the fish has three bands (top, middle and bottom). The banding is broken into squares and runs from just behind the head to the tailfin. The tailfin has no fin extentions. Hope someone knows what it is.

sorry :P still looking, I was leaning towards one... but it wasn;t the right shape of head... I'll let you know if I find it.

I found it !! Its one i looked at before , but i only looked at a single photo (there are different color versions in that species). Its either a surge wrasse or a christmas wrasse. Check it out :

I thought it had its adult coloring because of its 5 to 6 inch size but doing more research i found out that the green and reddish brown coloring is its juvie coloration evidently. I still have to check to be sure both male and female have the same coloring . I called the store i bought it and spoke to the person who ordered it and they said it was a Thalassoma trilobatum or christmas wrasse. Mystery solved.
