southbend, in
i just set up a 1200g indoor pond (pics in indoor pond) and i got a 3700gph pump, what size plumbing? 1.5" or 2" or?

I think your question was worded to vague for an accurate answer to be offered without askign a bulk of questions...

Are you looking for a single overflow? Will the "pond" be elevated enough to create a siphon that reasons maximum capacity for pipe diameters? Without knowing a lot more abotu the system really the best we can do is direct you to a source of reliable information... such as this sticky - http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205645

Good luck and I'll be going to the pond forum to check out what you've got so far.

this is what im working with, the brute trash can will be the filter and fed from the top to let gravity do the draining back to the pond

Is the pump going to be submerged?

ok, the fitting on the pump is 1.5", is it ok to run 1.5" to the filter and two 1.5" returns to the pond?

I don't see why not. I would have two returns, but on opposite sides of the rather large pond. This way it would maximize surface agitation and water flow.

The only problem I foresee is that the return will not be able to keep up with the pump. 3700GPH being FORCE fed into a sump, and a gravity drain of only two 1.5" pipes will simply cause an overflow in the sump.
