need advice before operating on rtc

Hi guys, need some advise b4 I perform the curled gill operation for my sbrtc.

Can rtc or catfishes in general tolerate Transmore or fish sedative?
Is there another safer product tat we can use to make the catfish sedate?

I have heard abt using ice to sedate the catfish...but how do u do it?
