my problem is, i moved my adult female texas from my 125 for breeding purposes, to a 55gal with a male. she was in the tank by herself for over a 2weeks now. wile the male was in another tank directly beside her, so they could at least get familar with each other. so, i moved the male to the "breeding" tank. and seperated her from him with eggcrate. also cut some larger holes in the crate to alow a sort of interation between the 2. she has moved her breeding pot from the back corner to the front up aginst the crate.

ok here is the problem, she hasn't eatin anything since i moved her from the 125? she used to have no problem taking pellets or frozen wile in the 125. i have tried to entise her with pellets and my fingers on the glass, and even have tried some frozen, as she seemed to love it before. well i getting purty conserned and i don't know what to do about this issue. any advice welcome and thanx in advance

she is probably gettin ready to spawn and if so she is not gonna be very interested in eating but rather creating the most appealing spot to spawn..is she showing her breeding colors..and is her ovary deposit showing

yeah i wouldnt be to worried...she should be fine..

prespawning preparation shouldn't deter her from eating. I'm thinking it's probably a combination of being moved to a new, smaller tank, then having a new male come around and then having the new tank she's still getting used to redecorated with a tank divider. that's quite a bit of stress that she's having to deal with and it will take her time to get comfortable in the new surroundings. I wouldn't worry too much just yet, but try to keep her stress at a minimum for the next few weeks. Make sure water is kept very clean and that she doesn't get picked on. If she's still not eating in another week or 2 then there may be cause for concern. :)

negative.

and now i think about it i think jason is on the right path. i was starting to panic. that would be alot of stress if i was in her fins. :(

well i'll keep my eyes on her, and hopefully she gets better.
