So I came across an add on a local website for a 140 gallon and oak stand for $250 obo. I currently don't need a new tank but I am growing out an oscar and a jag in an 80 Gallon and will probably need a new tank in about 6 months. It's pretty hard to come across a large tank in my city and especially for this price. I was really hoping to get something around 200 gallons but there are rarely ever any tanks that size around here and if there are they are way overpriced. Would I be able to keep my fish together in the 140 for life? I don't know the exact dimensions of the tank but the lady is supposed to get back to me with them.

Here is the link.

I don't know about the fish you are wanting to keep in it, but if you have the money go for it. At the very least if they do outgrow it you can just sell it. Since it's hard to find large used tanks in your area I'm betting it wouldn't be hard to find a buyer. I could be wrong though.

I would go for it depending on the dimensions. If it's a 6' tank it should be OK for your oscar and jag, unless they turn out not to be compatible and in that case even a 180 or 240 or whatever probably won't work.

Nice pick up. I actually was trying to buy your tank this afternoon lol!

yah pricing around here is crazy! tanks these sizes, minmun $850 and up to like $1400 and some of them that ive come across dont even come with the accessories.

Thanks for the help guys. I called the lady back because she never got back to me on the dimensions and said it was sold, which kind of made me mad since I was the first one to call and was just waiting to hear back.

bcpits - Yea it's kind of ridiculous how expensive tanks are around here. It seems rare to find a tank over 55 gallons for a decent price.
